+I'm having technical issues using the Online Tracking Tool. Who can I contact for support?
The best source of help would is an IWM Cellar Master, available at info@iwmcellars.com. Support is available Monday-Friday 9-6pm EST.
+How do I add a new purchase?
Once logged into your Online Cellar Account you are first met with the main screen, or Cellar View. Just below your name banner you will find the main navigational toolbar. Click on the leftmost option, ADD WINE. Here, type in the name and producer of the wine you wish to enter, for example “Biondi-Santi Brunello Riserva” The Tracking Tool will provide you with its list of matches for the wine you have entered, in this case it returns “Biondi-Santi Il Greppo—Brunello di Montalcino Riserva.” This is, hopefully, the wine you are looking for. If you do not see the wine you are trying to enter, either adjust your search or you can click the link below the list and “add the wine manually.” If you take this route, enter as much information as possible into the provided fields and an IWM Cellar Master will add the wine to our ever-growing catalog of wines. Whichever method you use to enter the wine (manual or selecting from the suggested list), the next step is to provide as much of the requested purchase information as you would like (being sure to fill out the required fields, marked with a red asterisk), including Purchase Date, Merchant, Bottle Price, Vintage and Size. Choose a Storage Site for where your wines are going to be placed (i.e. Home Cellar) and you have the option to enter which Position your wine will be stored in (i.e. Bottom Rack or A-3) and a Storage Note (i.e. Original Wood Case). Click “Save Changes” and you are all set! If you have a large list of recent purchases, you can also send your list or a collection of invoices to your Cellar Master at info@iwmcellars.com and they will be uploaded the information into your cellar for you.
Head to the individual wine’s page by clicking on the product’s name on the Main Cellar View page. You will notice a new set of tabs has appeared directly below the main toolbar. Click on the rightmost tab, “Remove/Move;” Look under the header Remove Wine From Cellar, and adjust the date of removal if necessary. Select from the drop-down menu the storage site you would like to remove the wine from, then click the button next to “Qty: X” (multiple choices will appear if you have wine stored in the same storage site but in different positions). Select the quantity to remove and the reason for removal from the drop-down menus and click the “Remove Wine” button.
+How do I view all my wines in one particular storage site?
On the Main Cellar View page find the subsection on the left-hand side marked NARROW YOUR CELLAR BY. Scroll down to Storage Site and select the site for which you would like to have the contents displayed.
+What does “Unique Label” mean?
Our definition of Unique Label is a specific combination of a particular wine and vintage. For example, 1999 Sassicaia and 2000 Sassicaia are each unique labels. If your cellar consisted of 1 case each of 1999 Sassicaia, 2000 Sassicaia, 1999 Solaia and 2004 Tignanello, you would have 48 different bottles, and 4 unique labels. We quantify in this way as a method of judging diversity and balance within an individual cellar.
+How do I move a wine from one storage site to another?
Moving is very similar to the Removing process described in #2. After clicking on the MOVE/REMOVE tab on a Wine Information page, look under the header Move Wine Between Storage Sites and select which Storage Site you would like to move the wines from. Check the button next to Qty then select from the drop-down lists the Quantity you would like to remove along with the Storage Site you would like to move the wine too. If desired, enter in a Storage Position and Storage Note in the given fields.
+Are purchases from IWM automatically added to my online cellar?
Yes, purchases from IWM are added by your Cellar Master within a timely fashion. All your purchases will be added, so if you have purchased a wine to give as a gift, make sure to go through your cellar and remove it using the Remove/Move tab.
+Can I see professional ratings?
IWM does provide access to professional ratings from two of the larger consumer-oriented publications. We realize not every customer is interested in seeing this content, so we have this option automatically set to “Off.” If you would like to see ratings displayed for your wines, contact us at info@iwmcellars.com and we will turn this option on for you.
+I made a big purchase and it will probably take forever to enter all the wines into my online cellar. Can I just send them to you and have you enter them?
Yes you can! Send your invoices or a spreadsheet with the list of wines to either info@iwmcellars.com or your Cellar Master and we will add them to your online cellar.
+How do I upload my whole collection onto your site? If you have your collection listed in a spreadsheet you can send it in to us and we will upload it to the site for you. Just submit it to info@iwmcellars.com and we will have it up and running for you within a few weeks.
+Why should I use IWM’s Cellar Management Program?
IWM’s Cellar Management Solutions is an integrated approach that combines the convenience and power of our Online Wine Tracking Tool with actual human feedback and expertise from our available Cellar Masters and Portfolio Managers. We want our clients to develop the best collection for both their palate and budget, and personal client service is our first priority. We are also rapidly expanding the capabilities of our system and are planning on implementing a Community Bulletin Board function as well as access to Current Market Value information for all your wines.
+How do I add a tasting note?
Click on any wine’s name to reach its Wine Information page, then click on the tab marked “My Tasting Notes.” Adjust the date if necessary, type in any of your impressions of the wine, and you have the option to select characteristics from the drop down menus marked Body, Acidity, Tannin and Alcohol. Click “Save Tasting Information” and you will henceforth be able to view your notes either from the “My Tasting Notes” tab or by clicking TASTING NOTES in the toolbar.
Additionally, each wine can be given a star rating of 1-5 stars. Simply click on the blank stars listed next to the wine’s name on the Main Cellar View page or the Wine Information page.
